25 Million GBP Being Spent by MBNL to Enhance 3G Coverage in Northern Ireland

It had been reported by the Associated Press that three British mobile network operators namely T-Mobile UK, Orange UK and Hutchinson 3G UK that operate under the joint name of Everything Everywhere are planning to conduct a 25 million GPB development project in Northern Ireland through the network sharing scheme Mobile Broadband Network Ltd (MBNL). As per this move it is anticipated that MBNL would improve 3G coverage in Northern Ireland such that the facility would be made available to 94% of the people in that region by the end of the current year. This would be an increase from the current 54% of the population that it provides facilities for under its coverage. Arlene Foster, the Northern Ireland Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment warmly greeted the venture by saying that it was wonderful news for Northern Ireland and that her division had since many years understood the significance that the hi-tech telecommunications networks would have for the growth of the economy.

Mrs. Foster also pointed out that the Stormont Executive was firmly devoted to enhancing the mobile connections to the country further and added that her department had thoroughly checked the telecom investment’s main concerns for the period between 2011 and 2015. She said that she had obtained confirmation that they could look for ways of enhancing delivery of high speed mobile facilities. She also stated that they were having talks with the UK government at length to locate ample finances to provide a 4G platform that would permit them to reap the benefits of the new advances in mobile services.
