Govt Support called for meeting Mobile Broadband Demand

The chief of mobile broadband firm, O2 has sought more support from the government of the United Kingdom, as the mobile broadband provider looked to cope with the surging demand from the consumers for mobile broadband.

The policymakers, according to the the chief of the leading mobile network operator in the United Kingdom, were needed to support operators of networks to secure fresh sites for erecting phone masts.

Ronan Dunne chief executive officer at O2 said while speaking to the Yorkshire Post that the officials at Whitehall should help the service providers in securing access to fresh land for constructing phone masts with a view to enhance coverage.

Dunne added that the government should avail grants for encouraging telecommunications companies to carry out improvements in the remote areas of the United Kingdom where there was no financial incentive for doing thus at present.

The newspaper was further told that there has to be a significant co-operation between private and public.
Dunne also stated that one of the strengths of Britain was that its people have a great amount of competition in the telecoms space and competition was good as it drove more investment.
