LTE Service through 800MHz awaits Cornwall
The mobile communications firm Clear Mobitel has unveiled plans to start up a 4G mobile broadband service trial over the 800MHz spectrum in areas of Cornwall that were reeling with incompetent broadband internet connectivity.
It has been reported that the Long Term Evolution mobile broadband scheme announced on a couple of weeks back would take advantage of the 800MHz frequency that was previously occupied by analogue transmissions and have been freed up since the switchover to digital from analogue.
It is worth noting that the area of east Cornwall including the Cardon Hill, which has been chosen for the LTE trial, had completed the switchover to digital transmissions in 2009 April.
The 4G mobile broadband trial that is anticipated to begin in 2010 September would be one among the first for Long Term Evolution broadband services for households making use of the United Kingdom’s 800MHz band.
According to Clear Mobitel, the development could ensure super fast & best mobile broadband internet access to customers with incompetent broadband internet services and in broadband notspots in East Cornwall.
The director of regulatory affairs at Clear Mobitel, Andrew Elston claimed that the trial marked a vital step ahead in assessing how Long Term Evolution technology could make a significant contribution in delivering solution for meeting the challenge of rural high-speed broadband internet provision.
