Mobile Broadband Use overtakes Reading in Popularity

A research that was carried out recently across Europe has showed in the resultant figures that people in the continent spend more time on mobile broadband or mobile internet than reading magazines or newspapers.

To be more precise, the study has revealed that the Europeans spend more time in accessing internet through their laptops or mobile phones while they were on the move than the time they spend reading magazines or newspapers.

The agency that had conducted the survey, EIAA ( the European Interactive Advertising Association) has stated that the time spend by the average European to browse the web using a mobile internet device was 6.4 hours per week, while the same subject group spend 4.8 hours for reading newspapers and 4.1 hours for reading magazines.

The survey found in general that mobile internet was greatly finding its way into the conciousness of the public particularly on the wings of a considerable boost in mobile broadband coverage bundled with a range of internet-enabled hardware and increased availability.

Meanwhile, the Mediascope Europe study of EIAA spoke to around fifteen thousand people in fifteen European markets, deeply observing how the users were engaging with the internet and the impact it had on the everyday lives of those people.
