Station platforms to benefit from Wi-Fi services

The Cloud, public Wireless broadband provider is all set to offer Wi-Fi services on station platforms, in waiting rooms and concourses in an attempt to expand the broadband coverage on the rail network of the UK. The new initiative will enable travelers and passengers to benefit from high-speed wireless broadband access. They can use broadband on their Wi-Fi enabled devices like Smart phones, tablets and laptops.

In the recent announcements by First Great Western, 23 stations more stations will be upgraded with the service. In March 2012, stations including Ealing Broadway, Oxford and Maidenhead will be upgraded. Next phase of the upgrade will include Reading, Bristol, Bath and other ten interchanges. All these stations handle 64 million train journeys throughout the years and a number of passengers will benefit from the Wi-Fi service.

Robert Jackson, Contracts manager at the First Great Western Station said that passengers can pass time with the high-speed internet access. Deal between First Great Western and The Cloud, would bring enhanced Wi-Fi network at the stations and extend the coverage over other stations. Managing Director at The Cloud, Vince Russell said that millions of passengers can access internet from their smart phones, tablets and e-readers.

Wi-Fi service ensures steady and exceptional internet connection to the travelers. Millions of travelers can access Cloud’s Wi-Fi service when they are commuting.
