This Year to witness LTE Penetration reaching 16m

It has been reported that by the end of the ongoing year, around 16 million broadband internet subscribers would be using the state-of-the-art Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile broadband technology-based services.

According to the research agency that has come up with this information, ABI Research, twelve countries in the world currently have commercially deployed LTE broadband services, besides the market inching toward that critical momentum.

The research body explained that service based on the LTE technology have been deployed in the mature economies of the world such as Germany besides a few emerging ones including Uzbekistan.

The existing of over a hundred mobile-enabled devices (including mobile broadband dongles) currently, which are capable of conceiving LTE-based services has been noted by ABI Research.

Furthermore, the agency predicted that in the year 2014, approximately 205 million mobile devices that are LTE-Ready would be shipped, with the technology gaining in popularity over the recent future.

According to the telecommunications regulator of the United Kingdom, Ofcom, a mobile broadband service based on LTE technology would be launched in the country in 2014, providing the obstacles related to regulation were overcome.
