UK rated one among cheapest Countries for Mobile Broadband
When a recently carried out research by the popular agency ABI Research compared the countries in the world for the cheapest mobile broadband data pricing, it found that the United Kingdom, along with France and Indonesia delivered some of the cheapest mobile broadband.
According to the market researcher, many developing countries such as Indonesia were effectively driving the usage of mobile internet through the use of budget prepaid mobile broadband plans, which was in its turn driven by the popularity of smartphones such as Blackberry.
As a matter of fact, in Indonesia, a 4GB mobile data package for the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) costs just $17 per month. This information was given by ABI Research.
The research body added that operators of mobile networks in developed markets were struggling for coping with the demand, which has been placed on their networks by the exponential increase of data usage.
Meanwhile, a number of countries such as the Philippines and Italy have experimented with time-based pricing rather than data consumption-based pricing. These countries allowed the consumers a stipulated number of hours of connectivity every month.
ABI Research analyst, Bhavya Khanna said that the tiered data pricing, adopted by AT&T has already been seen in a number of European markets, and would stand to terminate the unlimited data bundles.
