Vodafone to combine 3G and DSL Broadband Services
One of the leading fixed-line and mobile broadband supplier operating in the United Kingdom, Vodafone seems to be all set to announce a fresh Broadband-in-a-box platform in Ireland, on which DSL and 3G broadband services are combined.
According to sources close to the mobile broadband provider, the advancement has been driven by a greater demand of increased mobility, which in its turn has been triggered by vogue mobile data transfer devices such as iPhone and iPad.
The mobile operator has revealed that while thinking consumers were seldom concerned if their broadband connection was fixed or mobile as long as they were connected to the web at a decent speed, it has constructed a fresh type of router/modem for households into which a 3G broadband dongle could be plugged to take the WiFi connection to wherever the consumers travelled.
According to Vodafone Mobile Broadband, this broadband in a box platform could be carried with the customers while holidaying and has been designed to be simple for the users in terms of handling.
This, according to the operator, meant that consumers could enjoy fixed-line internet speeds of between 3Mbps and 24Mbps and mobile wireless broadband speeds of up to 14.4Mbps while on the move, with their broadband on the box platform.
